Africa's Current Conflict and Conflict Management Developments : Africa Wide - Continental Overview
Peace accords proved to be not worth the paper upon which they were signed in two civil war-hit countries, Libya and South Sudan. Warring factions unwilling to commit to peace continued to destabilise their countries and regions, while offering terror groups opportunities for deadly mischief. Civil war again returned as a troubling possibility for Southern Africa via Mozambique, while strengthening security in the Central African Republic (CAR) allowed for a peaceful election and was the continent's most hopeful development.
