Abstract:

In 2009, the Zimbabwean government established the Zimbabwe AntiCorruption Commission (ZACC) with the aim of dealing with all forms of corporate rot and corruption that have bedevilled the public sector. However, a number of factors, have impeded the operations of the ZACC. Through an extensive review of qualitative secondary literature, this paper unravelled the strategies that can be adopted to revamp the the ZACC. In the process, the paper unearthed the factors militating against the effective operation of the ZACC. The study established that the ZACC is facing a myriad of legal, institutional and operational challenges, which are making it difficult for the realisation of its core functions. In light of this, the paper proffered some recommendations aimed at curtailing these attendant challenges and promoting a salubrious environment for effective and sustainable anti-corruption management by the ZACC.
