Abstract: 

In literature, violence has not always been portrayed physically or starkly especially in classical literature because it was considered indecorous to show violence in all its nakedness. The stratification of society into royalty, upper classes, peasants and artisan classes meant that certain attitudes were regarded as ''proper'' in certain circles and ''improper'' in other circles
