Regard sur les manuels de français en usage dans les Lycées en Côte d'Ivoire
The textbook is an important vector for schooling. It represents a support of the teaching-learning process and has to go along with the schools programs. Its use has shown itself to be essential to ensure the effectiveness of teaching and a school success. In much of developing countries like Ivory Coast, the demand for schoolbooks is not completely satisfied. This is compounded with the problem of in adaptation of the contents of the handbook to the needs of the pupil and realities of their environment. In the French course textbooks used in the Ivory Coast high schools, even if an effort is made to integrate into them facts of the local environment in which the pupils live, one observes that a high proportion of texts still describe issues that are completely unknown to the pupils of the Ivory Coast. Pupils must be able to find in the presentation of the contents, situations which are familiar to him and examples drawn from his environment.
