Abstract: 

The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) is in its second year of a multi-year engagement in Mali. Its mission is to protect civilians, encourage national reconciliation and to bring stability to the country whose central government seeks to return its authority to rebel-held territories.
