Additional Peacekeepers in Mali a Good Start to Fixing the Troubled Mission : Regional Analysis

Mali observed three days of mourning in July 2016 over the deaths of 17 Malian soldiers killed when a military camp was ambushed by Islamic militants. The high death toll from the attack signed the continuing difficulty of pacifying the large country's wide-open and under-populated spaces. Peacekeeping efforts in Mali have also proven extremely dangerous for the peacekeepers of the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).
