From ideo-logic to paganism, or the Malicious Imp and his Master.- A criticism of Marc Augé's theses on the nature and fonction of pagan religion (as opposed to christianity rather than to monotheism in general). Marc Augé's approach is blamed, inter alia, for its a-chronicity due to a systematic avoidance of any historical consideration, which leads to a somewhat idealistic -- or ideological rather than ideo-logical -- view of "pagan" societies.
