Differential. spreadsheet, temp, bill of lading, securitization, readership, cross holdings...In the course of their everyday business activities, companies use a wide-ranging vocabulary drawn from many different fields - finance, management, commerce, computing, advertising, and company and employment law. Against the background of the Single European Market and the growth in international trade, companies will face increased demands on their communications skills. For this dictionary we have selected 75,000 words and phrases giving detailed coverage of all fields of business. Companies aiming to compete successfully in the international market must understand the needs of their overseas customers and business partners, and may be judged by their ability to express themselves correctly in the foreign language. This dictionary provides the business person with the necessary information to ensure accuracy in both English and French: entries are clearly subdivided to highlight different areas of meaning; indicating material in brackets (eg subject field, synonyms, etc) quickly guides the user to the sense for which a translation is required; examples are provided which put the words into context and give the user the information needed for active and effective communication in the foreign language. British and American usage is signaled by (GB) and (US) respectively, and informal terms are marked by an asterisk (*) in both source and target languages.
