Abstract:

Human-induced climate change has adverse effects on life and socio-economic development. The global community is called upon to work cooperatively to address the challenges of climate change. Drawing on various relevant literature, this article argues that Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) play a significant role in mitigating the adverse effects of climate change. This can be done when ICT is used to promote less energy consuming technology, offer systematic awareness raising and knowledge sharing on issues of climate change and provide early-warning about natural disasters and preventive measures.
