Women in parliament : Beyond numbers
Women in parliament : Beyond numbers
Over the last 20 years there have been many publications about how women can be elected to parliament. The second International IDEA handbook examines how women MPs have made a political impact through parliaments. Contributors include leading researchers, parliamentarians and activists. The handbook describes some of the most pertinent mechanisms and strategies women can use to impact on policies and political processes. It examines such topics as quotas and electoral systems and includes case studies which highlight the range of issues women face in parliament in Costa Rica, Egypt, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Norway, Russia and South Africa. Women in Parliament : Beyond Numbers was designed as an easy-to-use reference book for politicians and is also an excellent training manual and text book.
