Community involvement in health development: An examination of the critical issues
Community involvement in health development: An examination of the critical issues
Community involvement is widely acknowledged to be essential to the development of health services, particularly in developing countries. However, community involvement in health development (CIH) has not as yet been widely applied, and few reports of experience in its application are available. This book presents an overview of both the theory and practice of CIH, and discusses in detail the main issues associated with its implementation. It is intended to serve as a source of information on the subject and, by promoting a clearer understanding of the practice of CIH, to foster its adoption on a larger scale.
