Abstract:
The threat of international terrorism has received little attention in southern Africa. It is in many ways a far less pressing threat than issues such as violent crime, povertym public health and corruption. However, because of its relative prosperity coupled with relatively weak institutions and other vulnerabilities, the sub-region is a potentially attratcive operating environment and target for transnational terrorist groups.
