Financial Management
Financial Management
The previous editions of this work (in Afrikaans) met with a very warm reception, in fact so much so that this gave rise to a fourth revised edition. The form and framework remain that of a monograph, the delineation of a sharply defined subject -in this case financial management. It does not cover the entire field, however, and although an attempt has been made to cover the most important aspects, it should be seen as a general introduction to the subject. A work such as this is never the "last word" on the subject. The reader will obviously only be able to gain further insights and augment his knowledge by reading more widely, thus broadening the knowledge has acquired and having the experience and enjoyment of gaining from the ideas and approaches of other writers. Enough is said in the monograph to stimulate the reader to further study and to guide him along that path. The monograph is primarily intended for students who wish to obtain an overall view of the field of study under review. This is why ideas are occasionally repeated or formulated in different ways. This has been done intentionally and is based on years of experience with students: It clarifies, and removes doubts, the meaning and importance of a specific aspect.
