Abstract:

The article explores the Greek and Cameroonian trade relations and the origins of Cameroon's economic elites from 1920 to 1980. Topics discussed include the early Greek settlement in Cameron under Franco-British mandate, Greek merchants in colonial Cameroon, and the initiation and collaboration of the trade relations during the 1950s. It also looks into the oppositions and commercial rivalries between Greek and Cameroonian traders from 1960 and the impact of Cameroonian commercial expansion.
