Abstract:

Overconsumption of natural resources has led to environmental deterioration globally, regionally and locally. The study explored how product, process and service influenced environmental performance of the Kenyan floriculture firms. It also explored pollution control, product stewardship and environmental management that formed the dependent variables of this study. The researcher adopted the census method to study all the 116 registered floriculture firms. One hundred and sixteen questionnaires were administered to all managers of the Kenyan floriculture firms through emailing method. Path analysis (PA) and structural equation modelling (SEM) were employed to verify the hypothesis. The study revealed that product, process and service innovation significantly influenced environmental performance of the Kenyan floriculture firms. It concluded that product, process and service innovation were significant predictors of environmental performance. The study recommends that floriculture firms should adopt green innovation by ensuring that the processes adopted in growing flowers and the inputs used are eco-friendly.
