Abstract:

This is a detailed study of the nature of philosophy of religion, one of the most popular options within A Level Religious Studies syllabuses. Written by a team of practicing RE teachers the material is designed to be accessible and easy to understand, and covers many of the key issues at the heart of this subject including : Does God exist? Can God be experienced? Do miracles occur? Is there life after death? How can we talk about God? Throughout the text there are numerous panel sections to help understanding of critical themes, or to challenge readers to consider their own thoughts on specific issues, or answer questions on their own or within small groups. Further preparation for the examination requirements of the Philosophy of Religion option is offered in question sections at the end of each chapter. There is also a dedicated Revision section containing diagrammatic whole-page summaries to help students reinforce their understanding of the main themes.
