Abstract: 

This paper discusses Ethiopia's informal and non-state systems and practices of conflict resolution and the support they receive from government officials, research institutions and the judiciary. The author also examines the potential for these systems and practices to be incorporated into Ethiopia's justice system and the challenges such a move would face.
