Psycholsocial factors at work and their relation to health
Psycholsocial factors at work and their relation to health
Industrialization in the developing countries and the automation of industrial processes in the more developed countries have given rise to rapid changes in the psychosocial environment in workplaces and in the reactions of the workers. It is therefore timely to help occupational health workers recognize when psychosocial factors at the place of work are having an adverse effect on the health of the workers, and to provide them with the knowledge that will enable them to either initiate action that will prevent such factors from evolving or elaborate plans to change them working environment. This book is intended to draw attention to psychosocial factors that adversely affect the health of workers and to illustrate various means of coping with stress and of improving health at work.
