Strategic action plan for implementation of the AfricaInfo database initiative 2011-2015
Over the last few years, the African Union Commission (AUC), the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) have been coordinating their efforts in order to continuously strengthen statistical capacities in African countries and the development of statistics on the continent. One of the areas of focus in this national capacity building is the adoption of appropriate technological solutions for the management and dissemination of statistical data. This has been identified as the third strategic objective of the third strategy theme of the Strategy for the Harmonization of Statistics in Africa (SHoSA). ... The development of this AfricaInfo database Strategic Action Plan 2011-2015 is the outcome of a recommendation made by African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development during their conference held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in March 2011.
