Abstract:

The success of corporate leadership development programs depends on four steps. First, identify key competencies for leadership roles in the organization. Second, evaluate potential by assessing five success predictors: curiosity, motivation, insight, determination, and engagement. Next, map potential to competencies for each of the various roles. Finally provide emerging leaders with coaching, support, and opportunities to strengthen the competencies. The competencies are: strategic orientation, team leadership, collaboration and influence, results orientation, change leadership, market understanding, developing organizational capabilities, and inclusiveness.
