Abstract:

The Nigerian military's victory over Boko Haram at Konduga in September 2014 marked a potential change in the flow of the ongoing conflict in north-eastern Nigeria, highlighted by the announcement of a tentative ceasefire on 16 October. However, that ceasefire announcement appears to lack any substance, and the Konduga defeat has not ended the insurgency.
